![]() Watching this video was so healing though because it is clear that the band considers this mindset something to be celebrated. When I first heard this song it drew up some sadness because I consider myself a wanderer watching all my friends find their places in life, but not really finding my permanent connection in life. I can't imagine how hilarious it would have been to be on the set with these guys all improving like this. The final verse of the song is more positive, with the singer embracing his new identity and learning to love his present surroundings. The lyrics, "I will call you by name, I will share your road," signify a promise of companionship on this journey. The singer is seeking someone to help anchor him and keep him on the right path. The chorus, "Hold me fast, I'm a hopeless wanderer," speaks to the singer's fear of getting lost or wandering forever. He is still acclimatizing himself to his new identity and dealing with internal conflicts. The second verse is more introspective and speaks to the singer's struggles with growing up and living in the truth. The singer is at a stage where he is ready to move on from his old self, which is evident from the line "Left a clouded mind and a heavy heart." However, the singer does not yet have a clear sense of identity, as he notes, "But in the dark, I have no name." The singer hears someone's voice and is inspired by their words, which potentially drives him to seek out a new start. For the rousing finale, they let it all loose with Sudeikis kicking his foot through a drum set, Bateman breaking a piano with his banjo, Helms going crazy with an accordion and Forte humping his cello, before wandering off as they carry all their musical equipment on their back. The first verse of Mumford and Sons' "Hopeless Wanderer" introduces the idea of leaving behind a past identity and embracing change. ![]() Either playing outdoors or being crammed on a small boat, the guys take their funny portrayals quite seriously, complete with a lip lock between Sudeikis and Forte. ![]() From their respective musical instruments down to the way the band performs their heart out, the funny men give on the dot impressions.
